Serious hinterland crash leaves motorcycle rider critical

UPDATE: A 52-year-old motorcycle rider airlifted to hospital in a critical condition received life-threatening injuries when he collided with a guard rail in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. 

The man received multiple injuries - including a head injury and a compound femur fracture (upper leg) - when he crashed on Mooloolah Connection Rd, Mooloolah Valley, about 11.15am. 

Racq Lifeflight Rescue helicopter landed at a nearby cricket oval to fly the man to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

UPDATE: A motorcycle rider who crashed in the Sunshine Coast hinterland has been flown to hospital in a critical condition.

The patient, a 52-year-old man, received multiple injures in the single vehicle crash at Mooloolah Valley about 11.15am. 

Paramedics on the scene reported the man had a head injury and a compound femur fracture (upper leg). 

He was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition. 

 

BREAKING: Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a serious motorcycle crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. 

Paramedics were called to Mooloolah Connection Rd, Mooloolah Valley about 11.15 to reports of a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

One person has been seriously injured.

The paramedics' initial assessments indicate the person has received a head injury and compound femur fracture (upper leg).

Emergency services are still on the scene. 

The patient will be airlifted from the crash scene.
