POLICE from the Forensic Crash Unit investigating a traffic crash at Mango Hill this morning in which a female motorcycle rider was critically injured are appealing for witnesses.
Preliminary information suggests the woman was riding southbound in the left shoulder area of the Bruce Highway when her motorcycle struck a piece of wood around 6.40am.
As a result, the vehicle became unbalanced, causing her to fall off and under the trailer of a truck travelling in the left lane.
Officers would like to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the crash, as well as the driver of the truck, which is believed to be a heavy rigid truck towing a trailer and carrying timber. Anyone with information should contact the Forensic Crash Unit on 3364 3311.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition.
The incident occurred under the Brays Road overpass.
