More deaths likely from church roof collapse

MORE than 160 worshippers died when the roof of a crowded church collapsed on them in the city of Uyo, southern Nigeria on the weekend. Workers had been rushing to finish building the Reigners Bible Church in time for Saturday's ceremony to ordain a bishop. State Governor Udom Emmanuel and the new bishop Akan Weeks, who preaches that God will make his followers rich, escaped unhurt. More deaths are expected. Journalists claim church officials have tried to stop them covering the tragedy by seizing cameras and forcing some to leave the area.
