MORE Australians are interested in our Olympic athletes than The Bachelor.

Last night was the first time Channel 10's hit reality dating show went up against Seven's coverage of the Rio Games and clearly it's sport that's capturing our attention.

Seven's nightly n Rio Today program attracted 1.014 million metropolitan viewers, compared to The Bachelor's 858,000 metro viewers.

The ABC's marketing and spin show Gruen out-rated The Bachelor for the second week with its analysis of the advertising surrounding the Olympics.

Despite its exclusive interview with controversial bachelorette Keria Maguire, The Project didn't make the Top 10 programs of the night. It was out-rated by RBT, The Chase Australia and A Current Affair.

Seven's Olympics app also continues to do well, although it was down from day four's high of 3.2 million streams to 2.4 million streams on day five.
