AGNES Water and Seventeen Seventy residents may be without TV and mobile phone service today while work is undertaken ahead of Wednesday's digital signal retune.

All free-to-air channels will change frequencies in the area on Wednesday.

The retune will free up the broadcasting spectrum so it can be used for new services such as mobile broadband.

Once the channels have moved, viewers will need to retune their digital TV, set-top box or digital TV recorder to get them back.

The Department of Communications has advised that there may be some disruption to all TV and mobile phone services for several hours on Tuesday and Wednesday because of work being carried out at the transmission site.

Viewers should wait until after 3.30pm on Wednesday before retuning.
