ONE of the biggest personalities from My Kitchen Rules is set to hit the dance floor for Channel 7.

Ash Pollard, one half of MKR's posh Melbourne team, is the first cast member to be confirmed for this year's season of ballroom blitz Dancing With The Stars.

While it's a local gig for Pollard, who jokingly referred to Melbourne as the "Paris of the South" on MKR, she'll also have a Queensland cheering squad with her immediate family based on the Gold Coast.

The rumour mill has been in overdrive about some of Pollard's potential competitors.

Model Samantha Harris, Olympic swimmer Matthew Mitcham and radio personality Emma Freedman have all been linked to the show.

Retired NRL player Mat Rogers is also a likely frontrunner for the mystery footy player who features in the other promo Seven has aired for the show.

Shane Bourne replaces Daniel MacPherson as Edwina Bartholomew's new co-host.
