Michael loves life out on the open road
STOPPING at the Half Way Deli in Campbelltown for an excellent cuppa and bite to eat thanks to Janet and her crew there, we caught up with Michael Connell from Glengarry when he dropped in.
He was driving a smick 2018 T-601 with a 600 Cummins up front for Styx and Stones Haulage at the time and he was towing a super dog from Hobart back to Launceston and then knock off for the day.
"I've been carting sand to the racetrack at Elwick just west of Hobart, and although I've only been here for two weeks,” he said.
"I'm loving it so far, the job, and especially the Kenworth, it is just magic in every way plus they are keeping me busy and that's a plus.
"I've been on the road for about 30 years now all up, and have always enjoyed getting out there on the road, and have no regrets about that choice!”
Asked about time off, he told us he likes to go sea fishing, and then more fishing.
When he's not out fishing, he likes dirt bike riding, and when he's not doing that, kicking back and taking it easy.
