Men in court for armed robberies

THREE men will appear in court today following a series of burglaries and armed robberies across the Gold Coast.

Police have charged a 19-year-old Labrador man, a 26-year-old Southport man and a 27-year-old Parkwood man with a number of offences.

The charges relate to the break and enter of a Robina newsagency, break and enter of a Coomera lodge, break and enter of a Norfolk tavern, armed robbery of a Tambourine bowls club, break and enter of a Beaudesert hotel, and the break and enter of a tavern in Burleigh Waters.

Police will allege the men were armed with a high-powered rifle and concrete cutters that were used to break into ATMs and safes on the premises.

It is also believed police have located a clandestine laboratory at a Southport house as well as firearms, drugs and cash.

All three men are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today while police continue their investigations.
