Melbourne's funky Vaudeville Smash joins Eumundi's party

MELBOURNE'S disco/pop dynamos Vaudeville Smash will be on hand to help Eumundi celebrate the 50th anniversary of the naming of the Sunshine Coast this weekend.

The band's dance beats will be heard at The Brewery at The Imperial Hotel on Saturday, September 30, as part of a special program also featuring free brewery talks and a behind-the-scenes tour with the brewing team, family fun activities as well as the live music.

Manager Paul Thomas said the hotel and brewery celebrations would be rolling all afternoon and into the evening.

"The brewery talks will take place throughout the afternoon and will be hosted by our brewing team and tour guides,” Paul said.

"It will be a great chance to glean some insight into how the beer is made, as well as learn some history about beer making in Eumundi, and the development of the new brewery. It will also be the perfect time for people to try our new Eumundi Brewery Lager and Eumundi Brewery Pale Ale.

"As our gift to the community to say thank-you for supporting the new Eumundi Brewery, we're giving away up to 300 free tickets to see disco/pop dynamos Vaudeville Smash, who will be playing in The Brewery at 7pm that night.

"Simply buy a Eumundi Brewery beer on the day to receive a free ticket to this 18-plus gig.”

Guests will enjoy live music all afternoon, kicking off with The Brown Trouts in The Imperial Beer Garden from noon, followed by live performances on the street including Eumundi School of Rock, Uncle Bob's Jug Band and Mufassa, capped off with Vaudeville Smash.

Vaudeville Smash is renowned for packing a dancefloor with high-energy, good-time sets - an explosion of funk, flute, sax, synth and groove.
