MASTERCHEF: Taste of fame for our Elena

THE next winner of MasterChef Australia could be one of our own.

There is a wealth of regional Queensland talent in this year’s Top 24, revealed on Tuesday night, including two current and two former Coast locals.

The fresh flavours of the Coast have had a significant impact on Elena Duggan.

The 32-year-old grew up with a love of seafood thanks to her father’s former Noosa scuba diving business, Dive Boutique.

“I grew up eating lots of fresh seafood and salad; we were spoiled for choice. My dad would bring home all kinds of seafood,” she told the Daily.

Cooroy-born Duggan graduated from Noosa State High School and now works as a teacher in Galston, NSW.

Rockhampton-born bartender Harry Foster also lived on the Coast.

The 21-year-old completed Year 12 on the Coast, living in Mooloolaba and Maroochydore with his mother and younger brother, both of whom still live in Maroochydore.

Foster and Duggan join Noosa’s Matt Sinclair and Buderim’s Nathaniel Milevskiy in the Coast’s MasterChef takeover.
