MasterChef 2014 runner up to visit Mackay

Her love of food has already seen MasterChef star Laura Cassai take to the small screen, and even pen her own cookbook - and now the enthusiastic teen is bringing her passion to Central Queensland.

The 2014 MasterChef contestant will be a guest of CQUniversity when she visits Rockhampton and Mackay in June, and Laura is hoping the trip will help other aspiring chefs reach their goals.

Laura will present a series of free cooking demonstrations from Tuesday, June 2 to Thursday, June 4, in conjunction with CQUniversity's Hospitality and Cookery teachers.

Laura, who is originally from Melbourne, said working with CQUniversity was an obvious fit for her first-ever trip to Central Queensland.

"I was studying an education degree before I got into MasterChef, and I still love teaching people and inspiring people," she said.
