Marine rescue crew set for appearance on Creek to Coast

GLADSTONE'S Volunteer Marine Rescue has been spending time in front of a television camera, with the crew set to appear on Channel 7's Creek to Coast next month.

The appearance is part of VMR's recreational boating safety project, which is supported by QGC through its social impact management plan.

VMR president Jeff Kidner said being on Creek to Coast gave the crew another opportunity to get the boating safety message out.

"I don't want to give too much away, but our crew talk about safety equipment and we also give boaties an insight into what we do, and encourage new volunteers to join us," Mr Kidner said.

"While we have a number of dedicated long serving members, new volunteers are our future."

The first of the boating safety segments will go to air in December. VMR Gladstone will update its website and Facebook page with details.
