Man fined for homemade baton in pants

A MAN has pleaded guilty in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court for having a baton in his pants.

The court heard 23-year-old Beau Donald Avenell had the homemade weapon because he was "spooked" riding home in the dark.

Police found it in his trousers.

He was fined $250.
