Man dead after Bruce Hwy crash

THE Forensic Crash Unit will investigate a two vehicle crash in which a man died earlier today.

Initial investigations indicate around 11.30am a crash involving a truck and a utility occurred on the Bruce Hwy, 3km north of Koumala in Queensland.

A man, believed to be the sole occupant of the utility died at the scene.

A man and a woman from the truck received minor injuries.

At 2pm Queensland Police issued a statement saying the Bruce Hwy was still closed and motorists travelling in the Mackay and Rockhampton areas could use the Sarina Marlborough Rd as a traffic diversion.

"At this stage it remains unknown as to when the highway will reopened.

"There is no further information available at this stage," the statement said.
