Major developer expands to new Coast base ahead of major project

A NEW Coast property player is establishing roots in the region as it prepares to start work building a distinctive apartment complex.

Mosaic Property Group plans to open its Duporth Ave office in Maroochydore in the next month with construction crews currently busy on site renovating the new base.

The company's director of sales, Anthony Hancock, said the Brisbane-based outfit's Coast expansion had been planned "for some time”.

He said founding directors Brook Monahan and David Handley had lived on the Coast for the past decade and a number of other staff also had links to the region.

Construction has begun on its first Coast apartment complex, Cyan, at Kings Beach with work on its second apartment complex, Solis, due to begin a short distance away before the end of next month.

Mr Hancock said all of Cyan's 29 apartments had been sold and all but six of Solis's 33 apartments had been sold.

He said the Solis apartments had only been on the market for six weeks.

"It's very, very pleasing,” Mr Hancock said.

"The response from the local market has been exceptional.”

He said most customers were buying apartments to live in them, with many downsizing from bigger homes.

"They are looking for that last place they are going to have before moving into some sort of assisted living.”

The company's next Coast apartment development, Drift, at Coolum, will be launched next month.

Mr Hancock said the new office in Maroochydore was a long-term commitment.

"We are relocating Brisbane staff as a part of the construction team.”

He said the company had existed in its current form for about six-and-a-half years and grown to about 80 staff.
