Friday marks the end of analog TV

MACKAY will lose its analog television signals for good next Friday morning.

Mr Rental owner Glenn Watson said residents should prepare themselves for the switchover if they hadn't already.

"Without the capability to receive a digital signal you won't be able to watch your favourite shows anymore and there are still a number of people who fall into this category," Mr Watson said.

"An easy way to know that you're digital ready is if you can view digital channels like ABC2, ABC3 and SBS TWO and don't have subscription television."

To prepare for the switchover you can either purchase a set top box for your existing television or you can purchase a HD-ready television.
