Mackay Cutters donate $2500 to Women's Services

THE annual Women In League Round which supports and acknowledges the role women play at all levels of Rugby League has proved to be a huge event as funds raised from the round were donated to the Mackay Women's Services.

The Mackay Cutters raised $2500 through raffles and a jersey auction when the round was held in August.

Mackay Women's Services executive director Anne Butcher is thankful for the donation. "We will be developing a supervised children's area, we will put the funds towards putting equipment for them to use while mum gets the support,” Dr Butcher said.

Mackay Cutters CEO Troy Rovelli said it was important for the rugby league community to support women.

"It's hard to know whether the money you donate is going to the right causes but with the Women's Services here in Mackay we know that it will make a difference.”
