House Rules brothers adopt a new member of the family

WHAT was scheduled to be a regular appearance turned into a life-changing one for the Cook brothers.

Last year's House Rules winners and current Weekender hosts Luke and Cody were special guests at the Kids, Pets and Art event at the Warwick Cowboys Clubhouse, however their trip home would fill another seat.

A number of dogs and cats were brought along for the day by Southern Downs Ark, and it just so happened one very cute staffy x cattle dog took the eye of Cody.

"I fell in love with Mia when I came over here," Cody said.

"I definitely didn't expect to leave today with a dog, although I've had my eye on getting one for a while.

"She's so beautiful, and why not get one that has had a tough life."

Southern Downs Ark foster co-ordinator Shirley Wiseman said the group was overjoyed to find Mia a forever home.

"We came here with the intention of promoting Southern Downs Ark," Miss Wiseman said.

"It's a massive bonus for Mia to find a new loving home.

"It's extremely important to find new homes for these dogs and cats, as it allows us to rescue more dogs from the pound."
