Love of dance puts Lauren with best

TOOWOOMBA teen Lauren Dalamaras's enthusiasm for dance has been bolstered during a workshop among some of Queensland's best performers.

The 16-year-old Harristown State High School student rated last week's four-day Creative Generation workshop as one of the best experiences of her life.

Miss Dalamaras said she had been dancing since she was three-years-old.

She said working with nationally renowned choreographer Kelley Abbey had been a highlight.

"It was just so good," Miss Dalamaras said.

"She is an amazing woman."

Miss Dalamaras said she worked on a range of dance styles including hip hop, contemporary, flamenco and Jamaican as well as acrobatics.

The workshops also featured school students with exceptional singing and acting abilities.

"It was so good to see where you are at.

"You also get really good friends out of it."

Miss Dalamaras, who has performed in Empire Theatre productions of Beauty and the Beast and The Wizard of Oz, said she hoped to build a career in musical theatre.
