LOTH memorial day will be October 2

UPDATE: THE Lights on the Hill Memorial service will be held on October 2 at 10am.

"Nominations are now being taken to have a loved one added to wall at the 2016 service which will be held on 2nd October 2016," says the LOTH website.

"Entries must be received by us by 31st July 2016 to enable the manufacturer ample time to produce and attach the plaques prior to the service.

"The 2015 memorial service held on the 10th October saw 65 drivers names added to the wall."

Big Rigs apologises for incorrectly printing the memorial day would be October 8.

EARLIER: THERE will be a Lights on the Hill convoy this year.

Three hours ago the committee announced that the 2016 Memorial Convoy would be going ahead on October 1 and 2 at the Gatton Racecourse.

The news comes after the 2016 convoy which was to be held in February was cancelled after a venue to accommodate the convoy's growing size couldn't be found.

The decision to cancel the event was heartbreaking for the committee.

Since then the LOTH crew have been working with the Lockyer Valley Council to find another venue and date.

In February they announced the show would go on but at a new venue.

Last year the convoy was held at the Gatton Racecourse but there were concerns about the entry and exits.

"This year we have improved entry and exits as well as a whole new layout for the event! This is going to be an exciting year and we cannot wait!" the committe posted on their event page.

More information to come.
