WHAT do you get when a man, an elf and three hobbits walk into a bar? Why, the most adorable reunion to come to pass of course.

December marked the 15-year anniversary of The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. And for the first time since the dawn of man (or what seems like it), Elijah Wood (Frodo), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), Billy Boyd (Pippin), Orlando Bloom (Legolas) and Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) caught up for a heartwarming reunion.

That's more than HALF of the fellowship guys.

True to fellowship fashion they were armed to the hilt - with cutlery.

Monaghan, that's Meriadoc Brandybuck to you, uploaded the glorious Instagram shot, a recreation of the infamous Moria fight scene to his account. In tribute, he quoted the great Sean Bean's Boromir. Bean sadly could not make it.

Also absent were Ian McKellan (Gandalf), Sean Astin (Sam) and John Rhys-Davies (Gimli).

In addition to recreating the infamous Cave Troll fight scene from Moria, the lads also posed for a selfie.

Monaghan also managed to capture a sneaky shot of the elusive Mortensen, again quoting a line of Boromir's: "My captain. My king." Be still our hearts.

Over the course of filming the trilogy the cast formed a close bond, which they famously immortalised with matching tattoos.

While the onset adventures may be done and dusted, it's clear this is a friendship that goes ever on and on.
