Divisions two and three await results
WE ARE still no closer to determining a winner in at least two divisions of the Fraser Coast Regional Council despite counting continuing yesterday.
The margin in division two increased yesterday with former Member for Maryborough Anne Maddern receiving 1410 votes so far.
Her nearest rival is incumbent Phil Truscott who trails by less than 50 votes on 1377.
But, third place Gordon Dale started to close the gap to become within striking distance on 1124 votes.
Michael Weekes is in fourth place on 716 votes.
About 66% of the votes have been counted.
The tight race in division three has loosened a little with Paul Truscott gaining more of a comfortable advantage sitting on 2273 votes compared to Mark Williams' 1846.
This brings Mr Truscott's lead out to more than 400 votes.
About 77% of the votes have been counted.
The Electoral Commission of Queensland updated the website a number of times on Tuesday, in some cases when only a handful of votes had been cast.
"The ECQ will not declare a result while there is still a mathematical possibility of a different outcome," a spokesman said.
"Accordingly a final count and result may not be possible until after the deadline for the return of postal votes expires on 29 March 2016."
The counting continues today.
