Local Tickets builds on strength

LOCAL Tickets is a Whitsunday success story.

Kristen Goldup and Jan Martin launched the company five years ago in the Whitsundays and it has now expanded across Australia with 50 regions and cities set up with their own regional event ticketing platform.

Last week Ms Goldup, who is a director of Local Tickets, launched the company's new venue ticketing software in the Whitsundays, by demonstrating how it worked at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre.

The software, developed in North Queensland, will enable small venues to sell tickets online, at the venue and at the door on the night from a simple iPad and small printer.

"Having our own specialised venue ticketing system has been a dream of ours since inception,” Ms Goldup said.

"The system enables venues to set up multiple seating plans and auto allocates customers a seat number from the plan.

"Providing smaller venues with an easy yet very professional product is our goal.

"We believe we have done that and our first stop to show it off is right where we started before embarking on a national sales mission.”

Graham Mazlin from The Leader Group, was commissioned in 2015 to help the company expand by selling 25% of their shares to a national fourth generation family company.

"We have sold nearly half a million event tickets and launched 21 regional ticketing brands throughout Australia last year.”

Local Tickets is working with a variety of events, from big to small, from glam to budget, from mainstream to grass-roots.

Their culture is not about bigger is better, but rather how great an event is for the community.
