Lifesavers and ambulance respond to near drowning

SURF Life Saving Club patrol members and the Queensland Ambulance Service both responded to reports of a near drowning on a Sunshine Coast beach this afternoon.

The incident occurred in the surf off the corner of Mawarra Avenue and Pacific Boulevarde at around 1.30pm.

Both the Kawana Surf Life Saving Club and the QAS reported they found nothing when they arrived at the scene.

A QAS spokesperson said it was thought those involved had made their own way for medical treatment.
