Letter: New scam with holiday company

BEWARE of this scam.

There's a new one doing the rounds from a 'holiday' company.

It's an addressed mail out from Malaysia.

Essentially it's an eight page flyer accompanied by two scratch and win tickets.

One of those tickets is a winner, second prize is $US 165,000 and there's only two winning tickets.

Oddly enough there are lots of winners for these two prizes.

Lucky you!

If you win you have to ring an overseas number to claim your prize and they'll process it from there.

That's where the hard sell comes in.

Read the fine print on your ticket:

"Prize winners may be obliged to submit taxes or any other mandatory charges as a result of this award."

You've been warned.

CAMPBELL CAIN,

Marom Creek.
