LETTER: To lie or not to lie, that is the question
WINSTON Churchill once said, "Perhaps we have been guilty of some terminological inexactitudes."
And also perhaps today we are continuing the penchant we have for lying rather than confessing to our misdeeds in such magniloquence as per Winston Churchill.
Instead we have latched rather firmly onto political correctness which provides a shield from criticism and a screen for our lies.
Recently a person, of a certain country and of a certain religion, carried out an attack upon several people in London.
The PC spin (which has been successfully used before in similar circumstances), was that 'mental illness' drove the assailant to his stabbing rampage.
Now, I agree that the perpetrator may have been mentally unbalanced but all those who carry out these kinds of attacks, in my view, are likewise unbalanced.
But are the public really as naive as the PC addicted news services make them out to be that they should believe all the "terminological inexactitudes" that are used instead of telling the plain truth?
