CRICKET: Despite retiring from Test cricket almost four years ago, paceman Brett Lee has tormented English cricket fans this summer.

It started during the Boxing Day Test at the MCG when the express bowler broke English talk show host Piers Morgan's ribs during an exhibition over in the practice nets.

And it continued yesterday at Canberra's Manuka Oval, where the 37-year-old took 2-22 from seven overs while captaining the Prime Minister's XI in a tour match against England.

Lee continued England captain Alastair Cook's hellish tour Down Under, dismissing the opener caught behind for just one from two balls during the first over.

It showed Lee, who took over 300 wickets in his Test career, still possesses a short ball to be feared.

Lee also claimed the scalp of Joe Root lbw for one as England slumped to 2-12.

The visitors finished 8-264 on the traditionally batting-friendly deck, with Jos Buttler (60 from 61) and Gary Ballance (56 from 71) top scoring, after they had recovered from being 6-149.
