HERE is my favourite supercar of all time, the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador.
This particular Aventador was spotted at the Lamborghini Brisbane showroom, which is located at 632 Wickham Street in Brisbane.
Lamborghini chose the Aventador to replace the 10-year-old Murcielago, which ended production in 2010 with the SV.
This 9000rpm revving beast is equipped with an all-new, 6.5-litre, 48-valve V12 engine which can produce up to 509 kilowatts (691 horsepower) at 8250 rpm and 690 Newton metres of torque (509 pound-feet of torque) at 5500 rpm.
This is an 8% increase in power over the Murcielago. In the name of this Lambo, the LP stands for Longitudinale Posteriore, which is the engine position, the 700 stands for the PS (German for horsepower) and the four represents the four-wheel drive.
With this amount of power comes emissions, and car companies are all downsizing on their engines, or going electric, but Lamborghini had to keep the tradition going.
The Lamborghini V12 was first used in the 1963 Lamborghini 350GT, and has since been used in the Miura, the Countach, the Diablo, Murcielago and a couple more! Even though it still features the famous V12 engine, the emissions are down by 20% from the old Murcielago.
Connected to the engine is a seven-speed ISR automatic transmission, with manual shifting paddles behind the steering wheel, which then sends all the power to all-four wheels.
This transmission can shift within 50 milliseconds, making the Aventador one of the fastest shifting road cars on earth.
The engine and all its components are surrounded by a three-piece carbon fiber monocoque chassis, which brings the curb weight of this supercar down to just 1575 kilograms.
This allows this Lamborghini to launch from 0-100kmh in just 2.9 seconds, and it will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 350kmh (217 miles per hour), which makes it the fastest Lamborghini ever produced.
This particular Lamborghini that I am featuring is probably one of the most famous Aventadors throughout the world. It is the exact model that was featured in the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, and both Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale drove this beast! It was used for a couple of scenes in the movie and it has only done 342 miles (550 kilometres).
You can currently buy a new 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 for a base price of $835,765.
