Kings to pull their pink socks up

REG Dalton Oval will turn pink this afternoon for the Tweed Valley Kings ladies day, from 1pm.

The club, which competes in the Gold Coast Soccer Premier League, is on the verge of qualifying for the finals for the first time, with victory over Musgrave.

All the players will don pink socks as a gesture to say thanks to all the women who either play soccer for the club, or support its players.

Kings youth player Julian Southgate has even dyed his beard pink.

Proceeds from raffles will also be split between the club and a breast cancer charity. To welcome all the female supporters, each one will be treated to a complimentary glass of champagne.

Youth kicks off at 1pm, followed by reserves at 3pm and premier league at 5pm.
