Kindy marks half century anniversary

YARRAMAN and district kindergarten past and present students gathered together to commemorated their kindy's 50th anniversary.

The students and families celebrated on Saturday May 12, with a lunch and morning reminiscing of kindy days.

Kindy director Nicole Deed said they unveiled commemorative plaques on the brick wall in the kindy's backyard, which were purchased by past students, teachers and committee members.

"Although it was a cold and windy day we had a good attendance of around 100 past and present students, committee members and community members,” she said.

The group gathered together to watch the cake cut by founding members Joan and Eric Schloss, first students Leanne Ensor and Linda Stern, and current students Isla Douglas, Skylah Alford, Charlotte Wyvill, Harper Fitzsimons, Zoe Heit and Kaidence Stimpson.

C and K representative Nicole Duffy presented a tree to the Kindergarten to mark the occasion.

"Many stories were shared and there was a large display of old photographs and history, including the original roll book,” Ms Deed said.

The Kindergarten is putting together a book and would appreciate any old information, stories or photos to contribute to Yarraman Kindy's unique history.
