Kid's care benefits from new monitor at Coffs Health Campus
THIS week's visit by Humpty Dumpty Foundation patron Ray Martin resulted in a new cardio respiratory monitor being presented to Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
The Nationals Member for Coffs Harbour, Andrew Fraser, has announced the monitor worth nearly $20,000 will be stationed in the paediatric unit after being funded by the Foundation and NSW Health.
"This monitor is an invaluable addition to our hospital for the specialised, vital care it will provide for some of our smallest patients," Mr Fraser said.
"This state-of-the-art machine is a life-saving device and will play an important role in the care of sick kids across the region."
The new machine will allow staff to closely monitor a child's vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen levels and blood pressure so that any changes in patient health can be quickly observed.
"This monitor will help staff to keep track of a child's health so that even the slightest change or deterioration can be picked up and acted on," Mr Fraser added.
