Keep up with the trends
THE latest styles and trends seem to be constantly changing, and in this modern day and age it can be hard to keep up.
But this isn't a recent scenario; the fashion world has always been continually evolving, with each era introducing something new.
In the 1970s, popular fashion featured the styles of flared jeans, tie-dyed clothing and high-waisted shorts.
The 70s was also the time when hippy culture influenced the trends, with floral prints worn by the populace as well as famous band, ABBA.
Then came the 80s, bringing with it the era of Michael Jackson and shoulder pads.
Oversized earrings were also a highly sought-after accessory, along with parachute pants, leg warmers and varsity jackets.
It was an interesting period, as it was considered perfectly normal to wear leg warmers with a miniskirt at the same time.
The 1990s saw the appearance of jelly sandals for the first time, but this decade also included overalls and the double denim trend.
Looking back at the not-so-distant past, we saw the turn of the millennium produce not only new technology, but also hot pants and midriffs.
When looking back at on the somewhat unusual fashion choices of past decades many might cringe, but are they really any different from today?
Today's fashion trends mirror the past.
We are once again wearing high-waisted shorts, exotic accessories and jelly sandals (although many may wish we wouldn't).
So as we head into winter 2014, what are the go-to fashion options?
A staple winter outfit will always be plain denim jeans with a knitted or oversized jumper, paired with a scarf and stylish boots.
This look never goes out of fashion over the years or even by the decade.
That's what makes winter so easy to dress for.
Winter fashion is about the colours that suit you, staying warm and embracing accessories and all the little details.
Keeping up with the latest fashions and getting ready for winter is not hard if you stick with the trends that never go out of style.
