Sweets attract a crowd

SWEET treats cooked up by television's Masterchef winner, Kate Bracks, lured a large crowd of culinary enthusiasts to a Toowoomba kitchen store last night.

Mrs Bracks entertained a sell-out crowd of 60 people by cooking up homemade honeycomb with Grand Marnier and chocolate dipping sauce.

She was delighted to be able to put her skills on display in the cooking school section of Sauce, the complete kitchen source, in Station St.

"This is gorgeous," Mrs Bracks said.

"Having somewhere people can come to be involved in cooking is important."

Mrs Bracks made the presentation as part of a promotional tour for her new dessert cook book, The Sweet Life.

Toowoomba resident Megan Dolan said she attended to gain some kitchen inspiration.

"I have a pretty sweet tooth so I am pretty sure I will get something out of it," Miss Dolan said.

Store owner Dr Sharyn Donaldson said she was happy to have been able to provide a suitably themed venue for the book launch.
