Jon's in the race to cut red tape
CUTTING the red tape is driving ungrouped councillor candidate Jon Snow's election campaign for a seat on Coffs Harbour City Council.
Mr Snow, who plans to be a "commonsense councillor”, says he is putting people at the heart of his politics and priorities.
Giving the "unheard in our community a voice they deserve in council” is Mr Snow's motivation for contesting the council elections on September 10.
"No wild promises, just cut the red tape, ditch the expensive surveys and redirect money previously wasted back into the pockets of hardworking ratepayers whose voices have been ignored,” Mr Snow said.
"Local government seems to overcomplicate matters. Money is thrown at research when the realistic answers are staring us in the face.
"My philosophy is to deal with the problems that concern the families that live here.”
Mr Snow's key policies include putting the needs of the community first, engaging in sensible debate and solutions, improving financial management and implementing a complaints resolution process.
Extensive project management experience and a track record of achieving results through sensible, transparent and practical decisions is what Mr Snow says, if he is elected, will be of benefit to the council.
