Love Game of Thrones? Join the Capricorn Medieval Guild

SUITS of armour may have gone out of fashion in the middle ages, but as TV shows like Game of Thrones gain popularity so has the dress code from that period.

The Capricorn Medieval Guild chairman Graham Law said the club gained a lot of interest since shows like Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and Vikings were released.

"It's sort of mainstream now," he said.

The CMG is a hobby club for people who enjoy making and wearing clothes from historical periods, as well as fantasy genres.

Graham said if anyone had an historic period they wanted to include in the group they were welcome.

Current groups include Feudal Japanese, Hawaiian Polynesian, Medieval English, Vikings and Gypsies.

Graham said budget and time constraints did not always allow for authenticity, but people were encouraged to make an attempt.
