Join hands to reduce footprint

THIS week is OzGreen's One Planet Week, asking us to seek sponsorship to significantly reduction our carbon footprints...for one week at least.

Closely linked to this is OzGreen's GreenpowerNOW, which is calling on individuals, businesses, institutions and governments to buy 100% Green Power sourced from accredited renewables.

Like One Planet Week, GreenpowerNOW is an initiative that came out of last year's 'Youth Leading the World' congress.

OzGreen founder Sue Lennox said switching to Green Power was a very easy and quickly achievable action for the general public to reduce carbon emissions and invest in renewable energy technology.

"We have lost over 16,000 jobs in the renewable industry in just six months in NSW," Mrs Lennox said.

"It's crazy to see that happening now when we need to be maximising our investment in this area to effectively tackle climate change."
