Jimmy Kimmel to host Emmy Awards

JIMMY Kimmel will present the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The 48-year-old talk show host - who previously fronted the ceremony in 2012 - will take charge of the awards show, which honours excellence in TV, on September 18 and is confident in his ability to anchor the ceremony.

He quipped: "I am excited to be hosting the Emmys again. I have a feeling I'm going to be great."

The Primetime Emmy Awards rotate through the four biggest TV networks - ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC each year, and Jimmy is presenting for ABC, just as he did last time he hosted.

Last year, Fox presented the show with Andy Samberg as host, while NBC chose Seth Meyers in 2014 and Neil Patrick Harris was CBS' presenter in 2013.

The nominations for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on July 14.

And the ceremony's host is likely to be hoping for a nod as his 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' late night show has previously earned five Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Variety Series Talk, Writing for a Variety Series, and Variety, Music or Comedy Series categories.
