Jess and Norm's bathtub bungle on The Block

JESS Eva and Norm Hogan have "fluked it" again on The Block.

The Maroochydore parents, who have won viewers over as the reality reno show's 'bogans', made a last-minute decision to replace the bathtub they'd picked out for their main bathroom.

Worried a stone-look plastic bath wouldn't impress the judges in a penthouse apartment, Jess found another impressive looking tub on Gumtree the night before room reveal.

Somehow it escaped her and Norm's attention that the grey bathtub was not solid stone, meaning they'd replaced one stone-look tub for another.

"If anything was going to win or lose us a room, it's going to be that bath." Jess predicted.

Well, it turns out The Block judges loved the bath and thought it was smart to source a lighter material that still looked like the real thing.

"It's actually plastic (but) it looks like concrete. It looks a million dollars," Darren Palmer said.

"It's so much more practical than getting this big heavy thing up all that scaffolding. It's a clever and smart solution."

We doubt Jess will be so trusting of an online ad again.

"They said it was stone on Gumtree," she said to host Scott Cam.

While they didn't win the weekly prize, which went to Courtney and Hans, Jess and Norm breathed a sigh of relief that their bathtub wasn't a disaster.

They were praised for delivering on luxury styling, and lost points for a lack of practical storage - a must for judge Shaynna Blaze.

"This bathroom has the luxury of extreme height," Neale Whitaker said.

"They've got a mature Japanese maple and there's room to spare; it's extraordinary. If you're going to have greenery in your bathroom, that's the way to do it.

"There's a level of sophistication in here that's just next-level."
