ABC weather presenter is the guest at Women’s Day brekkie

FORMER councilllor Julie Arthur has urged residents to support International Women's Day in Maryborough.

Ms Arthur said the Zonta Club of Maryborough was hosting a breakfast for International Women's Day Breakfast this Friday, March 8.

The breakfast will be held at the Carriers Arms Hotel at 6.15am for a 6.45am start, and costs $26.

Ms Arthur said the guest speaker would be Jenny Woodward, well known to audiences across Queensland as the ABC TV news weather presenter, and she is one of Australia's longest-serving weather presenters.

Jenny has won a Queensland Media Award but her most treasured accolade came from the Bureau of Meteorology for Outstanding Broadcasting Service.

Tickets are available from The Carriers Arms Hotel gaming room.
