ISUZU Australia is recalling it's F Series and FX/GX Series trucks.
The recall notice has appeared on the ACCC's Product Safety Recalls website and letters will be sent to affected owners.
The recall notices for both types of trucks were released yesterday.
It says the F Series' transmission oil hose clamps may be the wrong shape and could detach.
"If the defect occures, the vehicle may not select or shift into gear, preventing normal operation of the vehicle and possibly posing a hazard to the driver and other road users," the notice said.
While the FX/GX recall only applies to trucks with 6UZI engines.
Their defect is insufficient lubrication in the power steering drive bearing.
"If the defect occurs, the bearing could sieze and cause damage to the power steering drive gear. In the worst case, this may cause the engine to fail, which may pose a hazard to the vehicle occupants and other road users."
Owners are asked to return their FX/GX series vehicles to their local Isuzu dealer to have the fuel pump/power steering pump bearing case assembly replaced.
For more information you should contact your local Isuzu dealer.
