TWO Indonesian pilots believed to have been radicalised are being monitored by the Australian Federal Police, according to a leaked report.

Revealed by US website The Intercept, the report says the pilots may have been "influenced by pro-ISIS elements including extremist online propaganda".

The report said terror groups had targeted aviation workers.

"Pilots, aircrew and others with access to and within the aviation environment can pose obvious threats if these persons are radicalised," it said.

"Their access and knowledge of security and safety regimes provides the ability to attempt attacks, as witnessed by past global events. A recent edition of the al-Qaeda magazine Inspire actively encouraged attacks within the aviation environment."

The AFP has declined to comment on the report or its authenticity.

The report is believed to have gone to enforcement agencies in the US, Europe, England, Turkey and Jordan.
