City’s attractions on travel show

A SNAPSHOT of some of the Ipswich region's tourism experiences will feature on the airwaves this weekend.

Television show Queensland Weekender has been filming in the region for an episode to air this Saturday on Channel 7.

Council's Tourism Committee chairman David Pahlke said the Queensland Weekender episode had been dubbed winter in Ipswich and featured Mt Blaine Hiking Track, Ironbark Ridge Vineyard, Queensland Raceway and the Floating Images hot air balloon.

Cr Pahlke said many people did not realise that tourism was a significant industry in Ipswich contributing $136 million to the Ipswich economy through visitor spending in 2013 and attracting a total of 1.1 million visitors.
