Ideal chance to learn more about coaching

HAVE you ever wanted to be more involved with junior cricket?

Cricket Australia are hosting a free Community Coach Accreditation Course (Level 1) at Centrals Cricket Club, Limestone Park.

This course is designed for people coaching players at club level, junior or senior.

The course is face-to-face and will be delivered from 9am to 1pm on Sunday, August 26.

Handy grants

IPSWICH City Council has revamped the Sport Event Sponsorship program and are offering three categories of funding to sport and recreation organisations.

The following are the new grants available:

Sport and Recreation Event Grant: This replaces the sport event sponsorship and will offer a similar level of support. Organisations who are hosting sporting events in the city can apply for funding of up to $10,000 to assist in running the event.

Sport and Recreation Minor Facility Improvements Grant: The facility grant aims to assist local organisation to improve existing community sport and recreation facilities in the city of Ipswich. Funding of up to $5000 is available for eligible projects and can be used for projects on council owned or managed facilities.

Sport and Recreation Participation Grant: The participation grant aims to assist organisations in running programs that will increase participation and membership in their sport/activity. Funding of up to $2000 is available for eligible programs.

The grants will have two rounds offered per financial year.

Round one of all three grants are open and will close on August 31.

Round two will open February 1 and close March 31 next year.
