Husband murderers' support group at Paxtons
AFTER a sell-out last season, Kucom is hoping for another successful year in 2017.
After telling the sad tale of Anne Frank in 2016, Kucom has opted for a happier show this year.
Bronwyn Grannall from Kucom said play-goers would enjoy Random Acts a combination of two plays and a belly dance performance.
"It's a light-hearted nonsense show with two plays, The Traveller's Table and Husband Murderers' Support Group," Ms Grannall said.
The Traveller's Table tells the story of the mayhem that erupts when an exotic massage, a priest impersonator and feral cats collide.
The play is set in an outback motel and people travelling alone are invited to dine together and the complicated fun begins and is described as an off-beat comedy.
Husband Murderers' Support Group directed by Ms Grannall is the story of a group of long-suffering wives.
"They meet weekly their help each other to quell desires to murder their husbands," she said.
Both plays are written by the same playwright, Hugh O'Brien. In between the plays there will be a performance of An Exotic Eastern Interlude.
"To add a bit of extra spice, our program also includes a feast of exotic music, movement and colour provided by the Shamoodah Belly Dancers," Ms Grannall said.
To add more fun there will also be raffles during the interval.
"Thanks to the generosity of some of our sponsors, there are some exciting prizes to be won- diving with a platypus, learn belly-dancing," she said.
With tickets on sale now, Ms Grannall said rehearsals were going well and the group will also take the show to Townsville in the future.
This year is Kucom's 70th birthday and the group hopes to celebrate with opening of its new playhouse later in the year.
Ms Grannall said Kucom's new home would be in Snow Wright Court, Beaconsfield and would join the creative hub in the area.
