Hundreds turn out for a bright farewell to Moy Sweetman
HUNDREDS have turned out for the Noosaville funeral of Frangipani Dreams founder Moy Sweetman.
The funeral was scheduled to start at the Christian Outreach Centre at 10am.
Many in the crowd are wearing bright colours, some with flowers in their hair, as they celebrate the life of the vibrant Sunshine Coast identity who touched the lives of those around her while battling crippling kidney disease.
After years of suffering, Moy decided to discontinue further dialysis treatment last week and prepared for death.
She had hoped to have one last swim with friends at Noosa Main Beach before parting, but her condition deteriorated quickly and she was unable to fulfill her wish.
A crowd of about 200 took to the water in her place as a testament to the many ways in which she had touched their lives.
On Thursday, May 2, friends will meet at Noosa Surf club at 4pm for a 4.30pm paddle out for spreading of the ashes in the ocean at 5pm.
If there's anyone who cannot paddle, a boat ride to participate may be available.
