THINGS are set to steam up with a new series of erotic romantic comedy e-books being launched close to Valentines Day.

Author Louise Cusack, who lives in Bundaberg, said the first e-book in the series, titled HusbandSit, will be available from Amazon on February 17.

"The idea for the series stemmed from a job I used to do as a house sitter," she said.

"I was chatting to a client one day who told me about her friend who was having trouble with her cheating partner. She made the comment that she needed a husband sitter to keep him happy while she went away for work or holidays."

"I thought to myself, now that would make a really great story."

Ms Cusack said the series followed the lives of four best friends from the outback who move to the big smoke.

"It is about their failed relationships, new work and life experiences and kissing a few frogs along the way," she said.

The author, who moved to Bundaberg from Brisbane in 2012, has released a myriad of novels throughout her career.

"I started my career writing fantasy novels before I moved over to romantic comedy," she said.

"I really love the romance side of things because it is something everyone can relate to and the genre has some great life lessons," she said.

"Comedy then just brings a bit of fun to it all."

Ms Cusack said her Husband series featured funny and heartfelt moments as well as some very steamy chapters.

"It is definitely not for readers under the age of 18. I don't think I would even give it to my own mother to read," she laughed.

"Erotic fiction has become so popular. I was completely startled when Fifty Shades of Grey was released but that book really turned a corner for the genre."

HusbandSit is now available for pre-order on Amazon and will be released on February 17.

HusbandStay, HusbandHeel and HusbandRollover will be available during the year.
