Aussie Hoops program at Ipswich Central State School today

THE Ipswich Force and Basketball Queensland are launching an Aussie Hoops program at Ipswich Central State School today.

Aussie Hoops is great way for primary school students to learn how to play and have fun with experienced Aussie Hoops coaches and ambassadors from the Ipswich Force.

Participants receive coaching and all the gear they need (ball, bag and reversible singlet) in a six-week program run at the school.

The launch, from 1.30pm, will feature a game between staff and students on one team versus the Force's US imports James Legan and Kyle Harvey on the other, with some help from other students.

Special guest, Force centre Martina Iti, will suit up to lend a hand to the staff and students team and will be handing out registration brochures for the girls-only Aussie Hoops program on Monday afternoons at the school through term two.

The girls-only program will be run by Ipswich Force player and US import Chelsie Schweers, while a boys program will be offered on Thursday afternoons with Iti.

Parents can register at ipforce.com.au
