Historic CBD building to get multi-million dollar makeover
BREAKING: Plans have been revealed for an historic railway building to undergo a multi-million dollar renovation.
The Toowoomba Railway Goods Shed on Victoria St is almost 120 years old and has been a focal point of the city's economic prosperity.
The run down shed hasn't been used in years and is highly visible for those travelling on the Victoria St Bridge.
The project will involve repairing the shed, bringing it up to the National Construction Code Standard and providing landscape and fit out to make the shed useable again.

Toowoomba Regional Council has committed to delivering the Railway Parkland which includes the Goods Shed as its contribution to the new Railway Parkland priority development area.
The project is predicted to bring in one billion dollars of economic activity and generate more than 3000 jobs over a 20-year period.
Council is seeking $5 million of funding from the Building Our Regions program for the renovation and will then need to provide matching funds above the $1 million currently provided in the 2016/2017 budget.
