IAN King

HAVING lunch at Epping Forrest the other day we were attracted by an eye-catching Wright 2006 Mack Superliner when it rolled in. We caught up with the driver, Ian King from Ulverstone, when he stopped for a cuppa and told us the truck, with a C-15 550 Cat up front, has previously been used to cart logs, which explains why we haven't noticed it about before.

He was on his way home to Ulverstone from Devonport via Hobart and was looking forward to knocking off for the day. Ian has now been with Wrights for seven years and reckons it's a great job. Though he preferred the work in the forests over hitting the highway, but added: "But no complaints as its good to have a job at all among all the uncertainty down here at the moment. And the Mack is a big honest truck, I've had it since new, and it's never had any troubles at all. Also its good to see the new folk at the Roadhouse, and the coffee was great for starters!"
