Have you met a friendlier truckie than Martin?

YOU would go a long way to find a more friendly truckie than Martin Wood, who drives a Kenworth T609.

Martin works for Chalmers and Sons, which is based at Ariah Park near Temora in NSW.

"I am carrying grain to Taree from Temora and have a backload of fertiliser to pick up,” he said.

Martin, 48, is relatively new to the industry, having been a truckie for two years.

His favourite roadhouse is at Jerildee.

I asked Martin which highway he finds most challenging to drive on.

"Driving through Sydney roads as it is so busy. Also coming up the range at Mt Oozley as there can be wild deer,” he said.

Martin has four children - aged nine, 12, 15 and 19 - and enjoys camping.

"I like the job and meet some interesting people,” he said.
